Bushfires

Had a great view of the Balmoral bushfire from the plane. One of the smaller fires burning in NSW. It still covered a massive footprint of flames and smoke in remote country. 15000 hectares in size.

It was drizzling and overcast when landed.  Smoke haze but not as bad as yesterday from all reports.

At Tullamarine, Qantas had set up a special check in desk for VIC Firies all decked out with matching fire engine red luggage bags. Seemed about 30 flying up to assist NSW fight the fires. Reports on the radio suggest tomorrow will be as bad as it gets for the Blue Mountains.
